Abstract:
This study is concentrated on a single castle morphology that remains as one of the best examples of Fortified Palaces in Europe. Different scholars studied the history of Pidhirtsi castle and its value as a part of composition design in the village landscape. However, the geometrical analysis of the Palace has not been done yet. This research aims to study the geometry of the country Palace ground plan and Elevation to find out which rules were used for its design. The author supposes that the Pidhirtsi castle was designed according to Sebastiano Serlio’s rules described in the Book III of his treaties.
