Caravansary, the Icon of Roadside Architecture

Abstract:

This paper briefly reviews the historical route of midway buildings in Central Asia, especially Iran, which has been obsoleted in the modern world. Since these building have been built for about one hundred pas years, today this land contains a large number of caravansaries. Thus, finding a suitable application proportional to the today’s lives may prevent dissolution of them.
