Abstract:
The paper aims to conduct a validation with up to date technology. A validation case is chosen from a wind tunnel test conducted by Nonomura, Kobayashi, Tominaga, and Mochida [7] and comparative CFD validation conducted by Tomita et al. [8] on pedestrian wind environment around a low and high-rise building in urban context. The analysis model for the case represents a simple urban setting, in which the effects on the flow field from varying building heights and wind directions are monitored. A cross comparison is made between the wind tunnel experiment, precedent CFD results, and results from the current CFD simulation studied in this paper. Appropriate adjustments are made to the analysis setting of the current CFD simulation where the precedent CFD setting may have posed a problem in areas such as domain size and mesh resolution. The error range of the results varies from 14.72{6e6090cdd558c53a8bc18225ef4499fead9160abd3419ad4f137e902b483c465} to 40.54{6e6090cdd558c53a8bc18225ef4499fead9160abd3419ad4f137e902b483c465} depending on cases.
