Abstract:
For a large structure with so many elements, it is extremely complicated and tedious to analyse with normal methods of analysis. To deal with it several approximate ways are suggested like SUBSTITUTE FRAME METHOD, PORTAL METHOD and CANTILEVER METHOD which gives quick results but with some inaccuracy which, of course, cannot be used for proper analysis of any structure. This paper compares the analysis and design results of STAAD Pro.(Software) with an approximate method of analysis i.e. Substitute Frame Method and manual design.
