Abstract:
Building products are specific non end-use products, which makes a targeted market surveillance challenging. This paper thoroughly describes and discusses a risk assessment methodology for market surveillance of building products. Results show that the methodology is both efficient and easy enough to be understood, accepted, and implemented by all involved organizations. Implementation of the methodology within the market surveillance authorities is shown to enable the end-user to access consolidated data in order to target critical building products. The conclusion underlines the need for the implementation of an appropriate digital framework, most likely under the form of a dedicated database system and a tailored graphical user-interface.
