Abstract:

The dynamic response of a beam rested on Winkler foundation under moving loads with varying velocity is investigated. Two types of moving load, harmonic and single point load are considered to analysis the beam response subjected to moving load. The governing equation of the beam rested on Winkler foundation is solved using mathematica software with logical introduction of constant terms in the solution. The maximum dynamic deflection of the beam due to moving load is found in closed form. In the numerical analysis simply supported beam is considered to show the dynamic response yielded by the moving loads. The effect of different structural parameter and load velocity is discussed and presented.
