Seismic Analysis of Brick Veneer Wall Systems: A Review of the State-of-the-Art

Abstract:

Brick veneer wall systems are widely used in construction practice across the United States. Earthquake induced damage to these walls has motivated investigations into their behavior under seismic loading. Damage included cracking of the veneer wall, excessive differential movement, and even collapse. This paper provides an introductory overview of the research performed on the seismic behavior of brick veneer wall systems.
