Abstract:
This paper investigates the performances of the two approaches proposed by Heidebrecht and Smith [1] and Lee et al. [4] by conducting a series of static and modal analyses on a model problem of high-rise wall-frame structures. The accuracies of the two approaches are evaluated by comparing their analysis results with the reference solutions obtained from a standard two-dimensional frame finite element analysis. The results of the analysis show that the Lee et al.’s approach can accurately describe the structural behavior of wall-frame structures in case that the height of the building is sufficiently high.
