Abstract:
Diagrids have emerged as one of the most innovative structural system for today’s tall buildings due to their structural efficiency and architectural aesthetic potentials. In this paper a study of the geometrical patterns of diagrids with different base widths of a module is presented. For this, regular diagrid patterns are made with three different base widths of a module. Thirteen diagrid patterns are generated and designed for a 36- storey model building with regular floor plan of 36 m × 36 m size. SAP2000 software is used for modeling and analysis of the building with different diagrids. The resulting diagrid structures are evaluated using static, wind and nonlinear static push over analysis and various performance parameters are assessed on the basis of the analysed results. Comparison of analysis results in terms of the structural weight, time period, inter-storey drift, storey shear and performance is presented.
