Abstract:
The demonstrated ability of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) around the world to promote economic growth and development at regional, national and global levels cannot be overstated. As India prepares to return to growth, the MSME sector plays a fundamental role in driving the engine of growth. According to estimates by the Ministry of MSME, Government of India, the sector generates about 100 million jobs across more than 46 million units spread across the country's geographical area. With a 38% contribution to national GDP and a share of 40% and 45% of total exports and manufacturing output, respectively, it is easy to understand the important role they play in social and economic restructuring in India. In addition to the wide range of services offered by the sector, the sector is dedicated to manufacturing more than 6,000 products ranging from traditional to high-tech products. The main purpose of the study is to analyze five major problems faced by MSMEs in Visakhapatnam District of Andhra Pradesh and Hyderabad district of Telangana State. The study is empirical in nature as it is based on the data collected with the help of structured schedule.
