Abstract: Integration of renewable energy and optimalisation of the existing energy infra structure offers new opportunities to reach the goals set for energy reduction and sustainability. Interaction of the Smart Grid with buildings leads to new possibilities for energy management in an open distributed built environment. By using AI techniques, like multi agent systems, for supporting process control the possibilities could become true in practice. However agents need to commit to a shared ontology of coordination. Therefore we looked for ontology for multi agents systems in energy infrastructures in relation to Building management Systems. Ontology could in this way be of great value for the Smart Grid.
