Abstract: The difference between Xiaoya and Daya has no exact answer yet, and no one has verified it using quantitative method before. To find out the difference this article tests four kinds of features among Guofeng, Xiaoya and Daya: chapter structure, repetition, content, and style. Xiaoya and Daya are similar in chapter length and the number of sentences per chapter while Xiaoya and Guofeng are similar in sentence length and the number of characters. Xiaoya is closer to Guofeng in some repetitive rhetorical devices while Xiaoya is closer to Daya in the repetitive rate of characters. Xiaoya and Daya are closer in text similarity based on high-frequency words and style based on function characters, while Xiaoya and Guofeng are closer in content based on content characters and share several common sentences. The future work is to further explore stylistic features across different sections of the Shijing.
