Abstract: The potency of local isolates from oil contaminated sea and from pesticide contaminated land to degrade pesticide was examined. The total of 10 bacterial isolated were able to grow on Bushnell Haas agar containing 2{6e6090cdd558c53a8bc18225ef4499fead9160abd3419ad4f137e902b483c465} pesticide as the sole carbon source. All isolates but NF 1 and NF 7, showed emulsion activity. The bacteria grew really slowly during the first week of cultivation, then increased significantly in the second week. The best bacterial growth was shown by isolates NF 9, NF 1 and NF 2 which increased steadily from day 7th to day 21st . The production of bosurfactant varied among isolates, and increased significantly from day 7th to day 21st. the highest concentration of biosurfactant was achieved by isolate NF 7 which was 16.16 ppm. The result showed that the bacterial density was not always correlated positively with the numbers of cell.
