Abstract: Auxins role in plants growth and development has been observed for more than two centuries but it is now that the puzzle of phytohormone auxin is getting solved. This review addresses the current understanding for cell to cell auxin transport. Transportation mechanism of auxin required involvement of many transporters for directional flow to the target organ. Auxin influx (AUX/LAX) and efflux (PIN and ABCB) transporter are much studied and provides understanding regarding the flow of auxin. We have made efforts to incorporate identified proteins that have a role to play in auxin transport. The auxin effect and changes in morphology are also reviewed in this work.
