Abstract: This study is based on the results of a survey of 161 Canadian companies. It examines how two processes aimed at reducing information asymmetry between management and corporate boards (information management systems and board development programs) relate to board involvement in strategy. The findings generally confirm that efforts to improve information management systems and board development programs are associated with increased strategic involvement.
