Abstract:
Previous research has shown association between religiosity and improvement of quality of life in palliative patients. This research aimed at once again testing the relationship particularly in Muslim population. Specifically, it attempted to identify the mediator role of acceptance which lay between religiosity and quality of life. This study employed religiosity scale which was developed based on Glock and Stark typology, acceptance scale from PEACE questionnaire and McGill Quality of Life Questionnaire. Demographic variables such as age, sex, marital status, income, and education background were also analyzed. The results showed that there were positive correlation between religiosity and acceptance, as well as acceptance and quality of life. The hypothesis that acceptance was perfectly mediated the relation between religiosity and quality of life was confirmed.
