Abstract:
This article attempts to provide a comprehensive understanding of the armed conflict in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), the reason that leads the people of Kashmir to remain alienated from mainstream India thus eluding peace in its real sense from the region. This article views the psychological processes that operate within the society which faces an armed conflict, and thus further strengthen this alienation. This article concludes with recommended suggestions that should be employed in order to foster closer ties between the people of J&K and rest of India.
