Abstract:
Women have a pivotal role in the economic development and they account for more than 50{6e6090cdd558c53a8bc18225ef4499fead9160abd3419ad4f137e902b483c465} of college graduates, professional degrees and management related occupations, However ,women only hold 14.3 {6e6090cdd558c53a8bc18225ef4499fead9160abd3419ad4f137e902b483c465} of executive officer positions of the fortune 500 companies ,and the number of female CEO’s at these companies is 3.8{6e6090cdd558c53a8bc18225ef4499fead9160abd3419ad4f137e902b483c465}. Emotional Intelligence and Leadership are closely related concepts. To better understand the impact of EQ attributes play in the career advancement of women a survey was conducted for women managers. This research is an exploratory one; it is designed to explore the Emotional Intelligence and leadership attributes among women managers. The questionnaire with emotional quotient attributes were taken which contribute to the successful leadership are taken and administered to 552 women managers in Hyderabad who are actually having the experience of minimum three years as a manager and taking decisions on their own in leading the organization forward. The data collected were analyzed tools. The fundamental limitation of the study is that opinions of other women are not considered and the Emotional capabilities differ from person to person and situation to situation. As the personal parameters are also taken into consideration to understand how they are able to balance their family and work is also an important dimension of the study.The results of this study will help the decision makers to understand the women power and helps to formulate the policies to encourage women towards promoting them to leadership positions and create women friendly work environment which will be a road map for empowerment.
