Abstract: This study is an exploratory investigation into how anthropomorphic environmental change impacts the mental health and wellbeing of millennials. Millennials are also known as ‘Generation Y’ and are currently between the ages of 18-30. Five semi-structured interviews were conducted at Auckland University of Technology with two male and three female participants (aged between 18-30). Thematic analysis was used to analyze the data from the individual interviews. Five key themes were identified and analyzed: Lack of care, human survival and progress, futility, negative affect and coping mechanisms. This research endeavors to help establish clearer pathways and mechanisms about how anthropomorphic environmental change affects wellbeing to inform suitable psychosocial treatment modalities.
