Abstract:

High selectivity (100{6e6090cdd558c53a8bc18225ef4499fead9160abd3419ad4f137e902b483c465}) to pyrrolidine was obtained in pyrrole hydrogenation catalyzed by Ru/C. It was found that pretreatment of the carbon support had significant influence on catalytic activity. TOF increased as Ru particle size over Ru/CNTs, whereas TOF keep almost unchanged as Ru particle size increase over Ru/AC. The structure sensitivity revealed in Ru/CNTs is due to the size effect of Ru particle which can result in the pyrrolidine chemisorption strength changes. TOF variation found in Ru/AC is due to the coupling of the size effect and strong metal-support interaction. TEM, FTIR, BET and COChemsorption were performed to characterize the catalysts.
