Abstract:

The traditional forms of Western fashion were based on a rigid distinction between gender, class, and age. It was only the cultural revolution of the 1960s which directly challenged the established dress code, offering different clothes for the younger generation. In recent decades, the androgynous style and gender-neutral clothes went beyond the simple garment and involved the forms of the body itself. This trend has become one of the main reference points for today's global fashion and many designers of various countries have explicitly adopted it.
