Lacan’s Desire in Wong kar-wai’s In the Mood for Love(2000), The Hand(2004)

Abstract:

This paper presents Lacan's desire in Wong Kar-wai's film In the Mood for Love(2000), The hand(2004). Most of Wong’s film talk about code of love, especially broken-hearted. The love of the man and woman is not achieved. But I think this relationship is not a breakup but a concession for eternity. That is to say, by using Lacan's desire I suggest that to acquire eternity although can fulfill one’s desire, does not meet desire.
