Abstract:

Throughout the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, the issue for many black and LatinAmerican intellectuals has not been whether they had special responsibilities to their race but how best to fulfill them.

In an attempt to better understand the origins, development, structure, and progression of racial social movements and practice, this paper, Social Justice and Liberation Struggles, analyzes the cultural politics and ideology of particular debates to comprehend the role these debates played in shaping arguments over what social justice means in American and International society,
