Abstract:

Playing Mecanika, an educational video game (EVG) designed to support the learning of Newtonian mechanics, this paper explores the potential of collecting neurophysiological data in the fields of science and education, and game development. Evidence was found that correlations can be observed between users’ performance and their cognitive states. These preliminary results suggest that this perspective could be an innovative and promising avenue in general game development or in educational videogame research field.
