Abstract:
This paper presents a new perspective to perceive technology driven interactive installation art. We identified a relatively different paradigm in interactive installation art, pointing out how artist explored interactive design in installation art to produce or prompt encounters that enable inter-subjective interaction or communication. The paper studies the manifestation of inter-subjectivity in the process of interpreting a piece of interactive installation art work. Besides, it also proposes a contextual framework in assisting the audience or participant to map the artwork for interpretation if not understanding of the coordinates of the artwork.
