Abstract:

Cloud computing is witnessing an increase in uptake with most organizations considering if and how to move from their own data centers to the cloud. The public cloud comes with inherent risks that differ from a traditional on-premise data center. Privacy and security, two primary challenges to cloud adoption, need to be considered and addressed with new and novel tools and techniques. Securing the public cloud can be mostly addressed by two techniques, cloud access security brokers (CASB) and at-rest storage encryption (SE).

Keywords: Cloud, security, privacy public cloud, cloud broker, encryption.
