Abstract:
The challenge of teaching game development to international populations which do not have an academic history of technology-rich learning environments, a lack of sophisticated technology upon which to rely, or a level of English required to understand programming in-depth can be overcome using the technological means available to them in a variety of formats. Developing simple computer games can be taught by the instructor to those in his/her charge while also raising their students to a higher level of comfort in using new software, and in seeing what possibilities exist in programs not normally viewed as being a natural choice for game development.
