Abstract:

In this paper the influence of body acceleration on the flow of blood through a stenosed catheterized artery is studied. The effect of non- Newtonian nature of blood in small blood vessels has been taken into account by modeling blood as Casson fluid. The governing equations of the fluid flow are solved using the perturbation technique, assuming the Wormsely number as small. The effect of catheterization, height of the stenosis, body acceleration on the flow shear stress and resistance to flow are studied.
