Abstract: Stage 1 Business Studies Extension is a combination of two subjects (Business Studies and Economics) taught as part of the Northern Territory Certificate of Education and Training (NTCET) at Year 10/Year 11 level. The students undertake 5x50 minute lessons per week of classes. 3x50 minute lessons are dedicated to Business Studies content, 2x50 minute lessons per week are dedicated to Economics content.
Enrolment into this program is by invitation only – 5 students were admitted to program based on their grades in the first semester of Stage 1 Business Studies. Another two were admitted to the program due to timetable & specific curriculum requirements after the first assessment task was completed. Five students are in Year 10, two are in Year 11. Four students are male and three are female. English is the first language of all students and all have demonstrated strong academic ability in all of their subjects.
