In this study, it was aimed to apply a “Happening” performance to reflect comments and ideas of a group of teachers working in a state university in Turkey. A happening is a performance, event or situation meant to be considered art, usually as performance art [1] Although it has been generally used as a performance art of theatre, it can also be used as a means of getting information which can help us make sense of educational situations, measure the effectiveness of educational practices, and plan attempts for improvements. The importance of drama has always been emphasized in education and as a result drama has been extensively used in many educational environments. However, using a “Happening” performance in an educational setting is most probably a new idea to get reflections of participants. This study explains how a “Happening” performance can be applied to a learning environment and then presents the results of the use of “Happening” in getting the teachers’ comments and ideas about the issues related to their work environment.
