Abstract: Organic peroxides may act as explosive. They are usually not manufactured for blasting purposes, but rather as catalysts for polymerization reactions. They are utilized in a safely phlegmatized condition. Triacetone peroxide and hexamethylenetriperoxide display properties of primary explosives.
