Abstract: The Kambammettu carbonatite is characterized by the presence of various melt inclusions hosted by apatite. Microthermometric studies reveal the presence of two types of calcite inclusions, one variety got trapped as solid calcite inclusions and the other as calcite-melt. Temperature of entrapment of the silicate melt obtained based on melt inclusion studies is having good correlation with the temperature obtained based on geo thermometric studies of mineral assemblages.
