Abstract: The research entitled cost analysis of producing and developing health care personnel of Srimahasarakham Nursing College in the academic year 2009 aimed to analyze the cost of production of health care personnel and analyze the cost of developing health care personnel of Srimahasarakham Nursing College. The sample comprised the real expenses of the production and development of health care personnel of Srimahasarakham Nursing College, both from the budget and from the off-budget, in the academic year 2009, from June 2009 to May 2010. The instrument for the data collection was a questionnaire on the product cost based on a simple calculation of the product expenses (Excel) constructed by the Budget Cost Standard Office, Bureau of the Budget, Ministry of Finance, Thailand. The data analysis employed frequency and mean. The results are summarized as follows: The product cost of public health personnel in the Bachelor of Nursing Science curriculum was 68,683.77 baht/person/year ($ 2289.459) which was higher than the cost of production of professional nurses in the same curriculum in the academic year 2008 that was a result of the educational quality assurance policy. Also, the product cost of developing public health personnel in the long-course training was 219.32 baht/person/day ($7.310). This comprised the training of public health primary-level administrators which had the product cost at 7,237.67 baht/person/curriculum($241.256), and the training of nursing specialty in nurse practitioner which had the product cost at 26,318.79 baht/person/curriculum($877.293). The cost decreased from the academic year 2008 because of the fact that the college had more of its own trainers and the number of the products was above the break-even point.
