Abstract: The purpose of the study was to develop a Chinese version questionnaire of decisional balance for advance care planning (ACP) and to test its validity. Item contents development were based on the previous decisional balance scales. Six experts were invited to rate the relevance and the clarity of each item, and the content validity index (CVI) was 0.95. Sixty-one community older adults were recruited and completed the questionnaire. The principal components analysis (PCA) demonstrated that all item loadings were >0.4, and the two factors accounted for 50.04{6e6090cdd558c53a8bc18225ef4499fead9160abd3419ad4f137e902b483c465} of the total item variance. The Cronbach's Alpha of the questionnaire was 0.749, indicating the reliability was acceptable. Further studies with large sample size and different populations will be needed to confirm the questionnaire’s applicability.
