Abstract: The primary purpose of this study was to investigate the role of social cognitive theory dimensions and hospital performance relations in the green purchase and waste recycling constructs of green supply chain management. In the research model, hospital performance was proposed as a formative second-order construct driven by environmental and economic performance. A survey was conducted in local community hospitals, regional hospitals, and medical centers in Taiwan. Using a self-report questionnaire, this study investigated the responses of the procurement staff of medical institutions who were responsible for selecting medical device suppliers. Of the 800 questionnaires distributed to them, yielding a response rate of 32.4{6e6090cdd558c53a8bc18225ef4499fead9160abd3419ad4f137e902b483c465}. The results revealed that the cognitive and relational dimensions of social cognitive theory had positive effects on green purchase and waste recycle. The structural dimension had a positive effect on waste recycle. Green purchase and waste recycle had positive effects on hospital performance. The study indicated that the two dimensions of performance were crucial components of hospital performance, which had a strong positive effect on the performance of medical device suppliers. These results serve as a reference for hospitals sustaining relationships with their supplier partners and making managerial decisions regarding medical device supply chain management.
