Abstract: Background: Physical exercises have been documented to benefit participant’s physical, mental, and social well-being. These health benefits are achieved when physical exercise is done regularly. Many factors have been associated with practising exercise regularly, and enjoyment is a key factor for motivated behavior and sustained involvement in exercise. Despite of physical tiredness and exhaustion experienced during exercise, many people still enjoy doing regular exercise. We would like to investigate the relationship between feeling of enjoyment during physical exercise performances and socio demographic factors. Method: A cross sectional study was conducted. Five recreational areas in Shah Alam were chosen randomly. A sample of 495 adults who were performing exercise in these areas were interviewed. A valid and reliable questionnaire was used. In addition to socio demographic information, 13 items referring to various kinds of enjoyment feeling were included in the questionnaire. Each item was measured on a seven-point scale, from (1) strongly negative to (7) strongly positive feeling. Mean score of all the 13 items used as the dependent variable versus each socio demographic factor. Results: The overall mean score ±SD for the 13 items of enjoyment feeling was 79.71± 14.63. Significant higher enjoyment feeling mean score among group were; ever married (82.0±12.381), educational level less than college (82.31±11.288) and employed (81.4± 12.49). While gender, smoking and co-morbidity status, showed insignificance. Direct significant correlation relationship of the enjoyment with the age of individual. (r=0.187, p= 0. 000) as well as with BMI (r=0.091, p= 0. 042) was detected. .No such correlation was found with household income, Conclusion: Feeling of enjoyment during exercise performance has a significance relationship with the Individual; age, BMI, marital status, education level and employment but not with gender, ethnicity, household income, comorbidity, or smoking status
