Abstract: Case study of a UK secondary care hospital to explore levels of and determinants of engagement with the Electronic Patient Records (EPR) System. A sequential mixed-methods survey of 81 senior clinicians revealed 68.8{6e6090cdd558c53a8bc18225ef4499fead9160abd3419ad4f137e902b483c465} (CI 61.4{6e6090cdd558c53a8bc18225ef4499fead9160abd3419ad4f137e902b483c465} - 76.2{6e6090cdd558c53a8bc18225ef4499fead9160abd3419ad4f137e902b483c465}, SE 0.04) EPR adopters rate. Ease of use of the EPR portal was the main determinant of EPR adoption (OR 27). Low levels of resistance to change, lack of clarity of the paperless vision and sociotechnical barriers to clinician workflow were the most frequently encountered barriers to EPR adoption.
