Abstract:
Training has become a strategic tool for enhancing the competencies of employees in an organization. The present article examines the relationship between organisational learning and transfer of training. It also compares the transfer of training on the job between experimental and control groups. The sample consisted of 40 respondents, of an Executive Development Programme conducted by a training institute of a ministry of Government of India, and their respective supervisors. They constituted experimental group. A similar group of officers, who did not undergo the training, and their respective supervisors formed control group. The results showed organizational learning enhances transfer of training. It was also observed that the respondents of experimental group showed greater transfer of training on the Job compared to the respondents of control group.
