Abstract: This paper shows at the country level that three cultural dimensions (uncertainty avoidance, in-group collectivism, and human orientation) are crucial for innovative outcomes in 55 countries. Countries which are highly innovative (e.g., Canada, Germany, Japan, Sweden, U.S.) have a specific cultural pattern (low uncertainty avoidance, low in-group-collectivism, and high human orientation) which is the opposite compared to low innovative countries (e.g., Egypt, Greece, Mexico, Thailand).
