Abstract:
The emergence of radio-frequency identification (RFID) tracking technology allows detecting the status of service by adopting inexpensive radio tags. This is an innovative progress for supply chain management. The introduction of tracking system provides an approach to achieve better decision making by optimizing related logistics processes. This paper identifies the major service players and examines their general information requirements in supply chains, and proposes a conceptual framework for an IT-enabled supply chain system model. This model aims to capture, manage, track, analyze, and share information and knowledge for service players so that they can obtain the specific information or knowledge required to support their activities.
