Abstract:

This Paper discusses the broad issues and challenges surrounding the e-readiness for e-Governance (e-G) in India by looking into the relationship and application of information, knowledge,Information Systems, and Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in the processes of government. It points out various gaps hindering implementation of e-G and makes an attempt to come up with a strategy for implementing e-G in India and thereby fulfilling the dream of better governance. It brings forth the objective of achieving e-G beyond mere computerization of standalone back office operations.
