Results of a Opportunity Recognition Analysis as an Entrepreneural Task: An empirical study of entrepreneurs in the European medical biotechnology

Abstract: The results of a conducted study which focus on the aspects of the “Opportunity Recognition” (OR) in the medical biotechnology (MBT) are presented in this paper. It aims to de-termine parameters which are important for the recognition of business opportunities and find out to what degree start-ups in the MBT field differ from start-ups in other sectors. Further-more, it analyzes the differences concerning the OR between Germany and two other leading regions in the MBT-field (UK and Benelux) which have mostly the same legal situation and financing possibilities.
