Abstract: The main purpose of this study is to develop an index to measure the propensity of Malaysian youth to venture into global business. The index is to be known as Young Entrepreneurs Global Propensity Index or YES@GPi. The index is an initial effort in developing a series of human capital indices and it is hoped that this index will further increase the number of Malaysian entrepreneurs emerging as prominent global players. A structured survey instrument using questionnaires was distributed to 210 youth pursuing entrepreneurship courses. However, only 202 were usable. It was found that YES@GPI have a significant and positive relationship with all dimensions, specifically entrepreneurial orientation, personality traits and motivation. The mean scores of all four dimensions were also compared in terms of gender, age, educational level and study discipline. It was found that differences in perceptions of the variables were significant among gender and not significant among age groups, educational levels and disciplines. For the regression analysis, only two dimeansions are significant predictors to Young Entrepreneurs Global Propensity with MOTV being the most significant predictor followed by BEV.
