Abstract: The importance of innovation is rapidly recognized as vital means in achieving competitiveness. For many organizations, it is very important to innovate as necessary as possible in order to cope with changes, nurturing the economy and sustaining high performance. Thus, by understanding the relation between innovation and performance has promote to further research on how and what kind of innovation that affect firm performance. Although a lot has been discussed so far, the need to identify between innovation process and innovation outcome is becoming important issues to the innovation research. This paper analyzes the current status of innovation process in the Malaysia electrical and electronic (E&E) manufacturing companies through a pilot study of 32 E&E manufacturing respondents. Reliability test and analysis of correlation are undertaken on several innovation measures. Information on the respondents, company’ profile and innovation activities were established.
