Abstract:
The academic interest in Born Globals - companies that operate in international markets from the earliest days of their establishment [16] - is strong and growing [22].Standardization has been crucial for the development of an industrial society and standards have been important issues for international technology systems, business practices and economics [3], [29], [26].This paper shows how Born Globals can successfully establish their technologies and/or products as international de facto standards. It enriches the theoretical framework of research on Born Globals which is available so far, as well as developing first approaches that consider dynamic aspects in standards research, e.g. [10].
Keywords: Born Globals, de facto standards, standardizationmodel
