Abstract:
This paper presents an evaluation of emerging ICT technology solutions on the security internal control system on South African organizations. Information systems have enabled companies to communicate more efficiently, gain completive advantage and get a larger market share. These information systems therefore need to be protected securely as they are the vehicle and containers for critical information asset for decision making processes. Therefore, this paper seeks to provide (1) an overview of the emerging ICT solutions used to conduct business transactions, share and communicate information (2) identify and analyze the new security risks associated with the emerging technology and finally outline the ICT security frameworks that can be used to identify, assess and evaluate the organizations’ security internal controls.
