Abstract:
VANET (Vehicular Ad-hoc Network) is a type of MANET (Mobile Ad-hoc Network) that is the next-generation networking technology to provide communication between vehicles or between a vehicle and RSU (Road Side Unit) using wireless communication. A vehicle accident is likely to cause an awful disasterin a VANET system. Therefore, certain safety service should be reliable and quickly inform following vehicles to save drivers’lives. Consequently, authentication techniques for privacy protection and message authentication are neededin a VANET environment. Non-repudiation features of the group signature scheme using a variety of security technologies are being studiedto provide privacy, authentication, and conditional privacy. MANET and VANET have rapidly mobile nodes due to the nature of the group members and have problems with frequent withdrawal. This paperproposes a private signing key produced by the group administrator to solve the key escrow problem of a group signature scheme that issuitable for vehicles.
