Abstract:
This paper presents a technique based on the application of fractal geometry for securing the transmission of digital data. It was proposed this technique for embedding a bit stream ( binary information) in data whose spectral properties and statistical characteristics resemble of those background noise through which information is to be transmitted. The technique was used for coding bit stream by modulating the Fourier dimension q of the Random Scaling Fractal model. In this paper we explore the use of this method for coding bit stream by modulating the Fourier dimensions, g and q of the Genaralised Random Scaling Fractal model. However, this form of ’data camouflaging’ is of value in the transmission of sensitive information, in particular, for military communications systems and recently in wireless communications systems. At the receiver end an algorithm of retrieving the information is used to restore the encoded binary bits.
