Abstract: This paper focuses on the emergence of Citizen Journalism in a country like India where media is considered as the fourth pillar of democracy. It also explores how citizen journalism has contributed largely to the collection and dissemination of news by the mainstream media. Not only from urban areas, but even people from rural India have come forward to participate in this ongoing media revolution, in spite of facing issues like low or no internet connectivity, language barrier and many more.
