Frame Meaning through Translated News A Preliminary Investigation from English into Chinese

Abstract:

A news frame can be changed in different ways in its meaning when it is translated from another language. Little research has explained such changes. Taking samples of translated news from English into Chinese through content and textual analyses, this study found that frame meaning is closely related to source text’s frame tone, story nature and frame sensitivity.
